OCTC Dean's List Spring 2023
The Owensboro Community & Technical College (OCTC) Dean's List recognizes the academic excellence of students in Spring 2023 who earned at least a 3.5 grade point average (GPA) while completing 12 hours or more of coursework numbered 100 or above. Part-time students enrolled in 3 to 11 credit hours with a cumulative 3.5 GPA and successfully completed a total of at least 15 KCTCS semester credits of coursework numbered 100 or above.

ELC Workshop: Budgeting and Money Management Fall 2022
Students participated in a learning session led by the ELC Team. During the session, students reviewed personal finance techniques to support thier future success and learned about the importance of developing and following a budget. This session was supported by Nathan Baer, a financial advisor from Edwards Jones Financial and facilitated by the Experiential Learning Center Success Coaches.

Students participated in a presentation to offer Financial Literacy information in preparation for their success today and in their future endeavors as graduates. The session was led by an ELC Success Coach and had a guest speaker from a local Financial Advisor who discussed steps to Budget like a pro and learn rock solid savings strategies.

Common Read with Sarah Mcartt
Students attended common read event with Sarah McCartt-Jackson, author of "Write Where You Are: Poetry and Place". A Kentucky poet, educator, and folklorist Sarah McCartt-Jackson has been published by Indiana Review, Journal of American Folklore, The Maine Review, and many others. Her poetry books include: Stonelight, Calf Canyon, Vein of Stone, and Children Born on the Wrong Side of the River. She has served as artist-in-residence for Great Smoky Mountains, Catoctin Mountain, Homestead, and Acadia National Parks.
